Derelict Methodist Chapels. As a follow-up to my earlier Primitive Methodist post here are two empty and boarded-up Methodist Chapels within walking distance of each other in Hartlepool. I love these simple barn-like Victorian buildings. I wonder how long ago they were full of song and activity?

Happy to see that you're posting again! There was a long-disused Methodist church in my home-suburb, restored as a house a few years ago.

In passing, my grandma had told me that my mother was baptised in the Methodist faith; if I walked by the church as a kid, I'd wonder if she'd ever been in there during its 'glory days'. Years later, I discovered that Mum had never known she was (technically) a Methodist.

Yes Rob, many of these churches have been restored as houses now. Personally I'm still happy to see them in the landscape rather than bulldozed.
